オープンリールデッキ用のdbxノイズリダクションユニットです。10年位前にヤフオクで買いました。最近オープンデッキ内蔵のdbxの回路の故障(たぶんICの故障)で使えなくなりました。タイプⅡ(カセットデッキ用)も持ってはいますがやはりタイプⅠのほうが違和感がありません。

あらら、横浜/関内にあるヘッドフォン専門店は先月27日に急に閉店してしまった。
やれやれ、これで X9000 を静寂な環境で試聴可能な店舗が多分無くなってしまったようだ、極めて残念である。

Stax 本社への訪問日も確定したので、その先の過程として Stax SR-X9000 を仮に日本国内にある販売店で購入するならばどの Stax 正規販売店からにすべきか？が拙宅での検討課題になっている。
①ヘッドフォンに特化した有名販売店(Akihabara, Nakano)
②高級オーディオ商品に特化したオーディオ専門店(Akihabara, Osaka,...)
③通販量販店
などがその候補に挙げられる。
最終的には、Hi-Fi IQ の高いお店が最終候補として残ることになろう。

当日最大の目的は、Dan Clark Audio Corina の試聴することである。
次いで、Audeze CRBN 2 の試聴である。３番目に Soltanus Audio Euridiche L-SX の試聴が挙げられる。
また、その会場では試聴環境の期待が出来ないが、Stax SR-X9000 も聴いてみよう。HiFiMAN Electrostatic Headphones の展示があればそれらも試聴して見るか。

MORAの売りはFLAC無圧縮でしたが、
96khz/24bitファイルが増えサーバーのレンタル経費削減でFLAC可逆圧縮に変更
している模様です。これはロスレスでもFLAC可逆圧縮になっているものがあるので
ご注意を。
しかも購入してダウンロードしないとFLAC無圧縮かFLAC可逆圧縮が
わかりません。楽曲タイトルの横にあるファイルサイズはFLAC無圧縮ものですが
参考になりません。ヘルプにあるように可逆圧縮の場合があると注釈があるだけです。
参考までに96khz/24bitのハイレゾならビットレートは約4.6Mbit/sになります。
ロスレスならビットレートは約1.4Mbit/sになります。
これより遅い場合、FLAC可逆圧縮です。
返品できないのでFLAC可逆圧縮を望まない方は事前に問い合わせした方がいいでしょう。

拙宅が WiiM 製品の個体差から学んだことは、WiiM 製品の中古品は個体差リスクを考慮して購入回避するということである。
品質管理の悪さで有名な HiFiMAN も然りである。
ただし、やむなく製造完了品を探す際には中古品も甘受せざるを得ない場合もある。
高額製品の多くは個体差リスクをできるだけ少なく品質管理しているのでそれらの中古品を安心して購入・使用出来るが。

この辺りで拙宅における WiiM Pro Plus 騒動記に関してまとめておく。
Sample 1: Pre-Owned, 2023年第51週製造
Sample 2: Brand New, 2024年第44週製造
Sample 3: Brand New, 2024年第44週製造
Sample 3 は少なくとも拙宅では到底許容出来ない個体差ゆえに、速やかに返品した。
Sample 2 は晴れて拙宅における Reference Streaming Transport に昇進した。
Sample 1 は Pro Plus のバックアップ用として拙宅ネットワーク内で再セットアップした（断捨離箱から引き戻した）。
もう、新たに Pro Plus を入手することはないだろう。というのも、それらの個体差を大目に見ることが出来ないから。
さらに、新たに WiiM 製品を拙宅に迎え入れることもないであろう（もうWiiM 製品は Pro Plus だけで十分である）。

WiiM Pro Plus の外箱が一新されたとのことである。ただし、その理由は不明である。
WiiM も着実に HiFiMAN と同様な道を歩んでいるな。手を変え品を変え、改悪への道をひたすら進むのであろう。

この連休中に邦書でも読むかと思い、手元にあった Blue Backs 「ネットオーディオのすすめ」に目をとおしたら10分間で読み終えてしまった。
もちろん、その収穫は皆無であった。このような低レベルの本をオーディオ評論家と称する人種が書いて良いのか甚だ疑問を持った。ともかくこの著者は勉強不足であることが明白であった。
このような人種が日本のオーディオ雑誌の記事を執筆していると思うとぞっとする。
まあ、日本のオーディオ販売店のスタッフも同様なレベルなのであろう。
無料配信の Naim Audio Community "Streaming Audio" の方がよっぽど有益である。

が本日開始された。
Krell 時代の話であるが、DD (Dan D'Agostino) は power amp の設計はかなり上手の方であったが、pre-amp の設計はそれほど得意ではなかった。
それにしても、製品の顔でもあるフロントに時代錯誤的な針メーターとは、東南アジア・中東の富裕層狙いであることは明らかである。

Hi-Fi News & Record Review September 2025 Issue が本日届いた。
その中で、dCS Streaming DAC Lina DAC X が review されていた。
その Sound Quality のスコアが 90% であった。何と、WiiM Pro Plus のスコアと同点ではないか。
dCS を以ってしてスコア 90% の壁を超えるのは難しいと見える。

Grimm Audio MU2 Streaming DAC も dCS Lina DAC X に肩を並べることが出来たが、それを超えることは出来ず。これが厳しい現実である。

Guys,
I'm still(!) contemplating going to the dark side and going streaming. I would be grateful for a collective view in the experience on the best method. I dislike PCs, they are really a business tool for me, so have no wish to entertain Poweramp or some such, so if not Tidal/Qobuz it would be a dedicated server.
Appreciate there are other variables - routers/switches etc - so all comments welcome but in your experience please complete my poll.

FiiO K17 DAC/HPA は HFN/RR 誌において Andrew Everard 氏によって大変好意的に評価されている。
拙宅では Chi-fi Products なるものをメインとして一切使用せずの方針であるが、Chi-fi House Sound やらに抵抗感がない人々にとってはこの製品は福音となるのであろう。なお、この商品は AliExpress Sale 期間中であれば10万円強で入手可能である。何と廉価なのであろうか！

FiiO (Fi representing Fidelity, iO for a binary 1 and 0) was founded in 2007 in Guangzhou, China by a team of ex-Oppo engineers, and its debut product, an MP3-compatible mini active speaker, followed a year later. It has maintained a focus on affordable hardware ever since, under both the FiiO name and the Jade Audio and Snowsky sub-brands. In 2010 FiiO launched a portable USB DAC/headphone amp, the E7, and updated the concept in 2012 with the E17 - both selling in the UK for under GBP100. A year on it launched the X3, a 192kHz/24-bit-capable portable music player. In 2015 FiiO entered the headphone arena with its EX1 in-ear monitors, and launched the K5 desktop headphone amp.
The next decade witnessed the brand's rapid expansion, including the development of a purpose-built R&D facility with both EMC testing and anechoic chambers, and a manufacturing plant with an 'an annual production capacity of up to 2 million units'. Naim Audio Enthusiasts の一人としては上記の review には正確でない箇所が多々あると断言出来る。
まあ、これが "Frieve - Audio Review"の限界なのであろう - これは少なくとも High End Audiophiles の視点ではない。
というのは、もし High End Audiophile ならば PRaT の概念を良く理解しているはずであるからである。

二社のオープンリールデッキを持ってますがTEACのものは、半田クラックが起きて一部の表示ができなくなりました。AKAIは、ノイズリダクションのICが壊れた以外は特に何もありません。両機とも同じ時期に販売された機種で年月が経ってAKAIのほうが丈夫と言う結論に到達しました。ヘッドの差は歴然でAKAIの方はゴミの付着にも強いです(ゴミが溜まりにくい)。
tascamのDX-4D(あまり馴染みのない機器と思います)があるのでノイズリダクションが壊れても支障は全くありません。似たようなものにカセットデッキ用がありますがこれでは音質がイマイチで使えなくもないけど不満がたまります。
