W/ L5 Toshiba doesn't support W2k. Only WinXP is supported instead.
You probably installed (or will install?) W2k by yourself.
There are lots of people that installed W2k on L5.
They found the way to run wireless LAN.

Ask your Japanese friend to check 2ch.

Sorry, I don't know you have no Japanese friend.
2ch means ttp://www.2ch.net, which is huge anonymous message board.
Due to the nature of being anonymous, there are lots of garbage
but still lots of useful info as well. Because most are written
in VERY colloquial slang, it would be hard to understand
if one were not extremely good at Japanese.

Note none has examined to install English version of W2k.
