The Pentax’s consumers want that
Pentax DSLR would be a good AF
performance under low illuminating
of situation.

However, an AF and photometer area
ratio would also be an actual
differential performance,
but it will not reflect into
a text list of specification.

The Nikon D300 has a larger area
as the photometer and AF system
in the viewfinder. And a metering
spot (2.0%) can be on selected
focus point position
(with the type G and D lenses),
AF point can be linked
a photometer spot,
it is best one as the APS-c DSLR.

D3/D300/D700 has taken
a same AF and photometer
detection system.

Nikon D300/D700 has a better operation
performance than EOS 50d/5d,
if Nikon own has an image sensor
factory, if Nikon D700 ahead of time
one year on the market, so what?

You would see that EOS 5d/II
is so small AF area into
its viewfinder (or on an image),
which its AF point can only cover
to a poor small area than D700!

Canon has better electronic technology,
but him take a weak AF system
to EOS 5D/II and EOS 40d/50d
than Nikon, then the Nikon
would thus get some effectual
competitive opportunities.

My view was not at one AF point amount
but its area ratio as my attention.
Of course, AF points amount
is also important, you would see
that D3x/D300/D700 and 1dsMK3.

Also, one more important thing
is that AF point can be linked
to a spot of photometer.

Maybe an AF needs only an 11-point,
but it needs a larger area ratio
at a viewfinder, (but that wasn't
one point as a larger size!).

私もD300を使っていますが、結局、撮影中にAFポイントを変更することがわずらわしくなって、中央の１点だけを使って撮影していることが多いように思います。それでもAFロックを使えば素早くAFを合わせることはできますし、微調整はMFになりますから。

K-m（K2000）も使ってみて、AFポイントについては不自由していないので、結局、私のような使い方の人間には現状の１１ポイントで十分なのだろうと思っています。

645N2はもっと少ないですし。。。

マーケティング的には50ポイントくらい付いているとカタログに書けてうれしいでしょうけれどもね。

AFポイントが意図に反して飛ぶことがあるので、私も中央の1点で
フォーカスロックします。

ニコンの51点などというのはどんな使い方を想定しているんでしょう？
斜めに向いた顔のある一点にフォーカスを合わせようとしたら、多点では
パニックになります。　

ニコンのことだから無駄なことはやらないと思うので、便利に使って
