Ipaqの名前ですが、Compaqの製品ではありません。Ipaqシリーズとは異なり、携帯電話として使用することは想定されておらず、海外のカード式携帯電話としては全く使えません。開発者はその様な使用法は考えておらず、間違って購入して泣いている人が沢山います。この点を注意してください。私も困っている一人です。

海外では日本の携帯と異なり、GPRSという方式のカード式携帯電話が多く使われています。拡張パックを付けることで、今までのipaqは電話としても利用することが出来、インターネットへもこのネットワークからアクセスすることが出来ました。
この製品はその様な携帯電話の機能が無く、携帯電話のネットワークを通してインターネットに接続することは出来ません。
Bluetoothの接続が可能な環境からはインターネットにアクセスできますが、それ以外ではアクセスできません。
海外ではこの機種でインターネットにアクセスすることは特殊な場所を除いて不可能です。
日本のモデムカードを用いて携帯電話のネットワーク経由でインターネットにアクセスできるかどうかも不明です。
開発コンセプトが違っているという事なので、このような点を改善するかどうかについてはメーカーの（HP）開発者の意志が重要でしょうが現在のところまだ、改善の兆しはないようです。
要するにメールもホームページもここからは見ることが出来ない可能性が高いという点が、今までのipaqと大きく違っています。

What is the SIM slot for that is on the device under the battery?
The h5000 series was developed with expanded functionality in mind, potentially using it for a WWAN device at some future date. Therefore some models may have a SIM slot located under the removable battery so that this platform may potentially be leveraged for integration of future technologies. The SIM slot is not functional in the h5400 series, and cannot be use for phone capabilities.

Can I use my iPAQ Pocket PC h5400 as a phone?
No, the h5400 has integrated wireless LAN technology, which requires an 802.11b infrastructure in place for connectivity. Therefore this device is intended for data use, as opposed to voice phone communications. The exception to this would be the use of a separately purchased Voice Over IP software application, which will allow you to use this device as a VOIP phone in an 802.11b WLAN environment.

Why does the h5400 and CD have a sticker on the back that says "Pocket PC 2002 Prem Phone w/ Outlook 2000"?
Some models of the h5400 may have a Certificate of Authenticity sticker on the unit and the Companion CD that include this statement, however the Phone capability is not functional. The operating system on the h5400 is Microsoft Pocket PC Premium 2002.

Can I use my h5450 with my cradle that I used for previous iPAQ Pocket PC models?
No, the h5400 ships with a new cradle that is optimized for the unit. Although in some instances the h5400 will function with other cradles, HP does not support use with a cradle other than the one that is shipped in the box.

Why does the LED not blink when in Slow USB charge mode?
Due to the power consumption of the LED blinking with system on, this would draw more power than the charge. The expected charge in slow mode is 100mA, however this will not be achieved with system on and LED blinking.

Will this work with the wireless pack w/ GSM/GPRS?
Currently, the Wireless Pack with GSM/GPRS will not work with the h5400 series.

でもiPAQはそもそもPDAだよ。

？？？GSMジャケットがあるというのは聞いたことはあるけど、そもそもGSMは日本じゃ使えないでしょ？H5450はジャケットシステムは継承しているんだから、PHSカードはもちろん、ふつうのモデムカードも使えるはず。というか使えなきゃおかしい。

iPAQでGPRSモデルが出るとか出ないとかの話はあったけど。
スマートフォンかなんかと勘違いしてるのかい？

欧米の媒体ではずーーーーと前から、
5450では、GSMのwireless Packが使えないって紹介されているよ。

5450って、本体だけで無線LANとBluetoothが使えることがウリ。

特殊な場所以外ではネットアクセスできないなんて
嘘書いちゃ駄目駄目。
Bluetooth付きの携帯や、
無線LANや、拡張ジャケット経由のPHSやモデムが使えるわよ。

もしかしたら、Worryerさんは、Bluetooth付きのGSM携帯を
お持ちでないのかしらん....♪
