はじめまして。
D40XとKiss D Xを検討しています。

レンズや条件によって変わるとは思いますが、
両方の写真を比較出来るサイトなどありますか？
（または一眼レフのNikonとCanonの写真を比較出来るところ？？）
色んな写真を見ても違う被写体なので、今一ピンと来ないですね。
同じ風景または被写体で比較した写真が欲しいですが。。。。

感想やご意見を頂ければ幸いです。

I have both those cameras , I say the Canon is a better and more advanced camera with better AF, but I think the manu sytem of Nikon is better than that of Canon, I think the Nikon is more intuitive to use.

So for newbies , maybe the D40X is the better choice.

However,I think the Rebel XTI is more serious camera than the D40X since its got much better AF and much more features like ABK , Mirror lock up and 9 point AF with better sensor.

Also , you can use any cheap prime lens such as the 50f1.8 , 35 f2 and 85 f1.8 on the Rebel XTI, but you can not use Nikorr consumer primes on the D40X since it lacks in-camera motor........and requires in-lens motor.


But the D40X has much better metering system that almost never fooled.......also, the nikon has much better kit lens , I dont use any kit lens , so it is not important to me , though if you want to use these kit lenses , you better get the Nikon.

But I thik if you wanna grow your skill or like that and take photography more seriously(this means use many lenses including primes) , then get the Canon with a decent lens like the Tamron 17-50 A16, EF17-40L or 17-85IS.

I use EF-S17-55IS on my 40D and 400D(kiss X)but when I travel light ,I use the 17-85IS and is a sharp lens, the pronounced barrel distortion at 17mm is a bit of problem , though if you do not post process your picture on your computer.

Conclusion :
1 if you want to get an easy and intuitive, fool proof camera, get the D40X with 2 kit lenses.

2 if you have plan to expand your camera system with many lenses and options such as a speed lite, you better get the EOS 400D since it has more complete lens and accessary support.

If you go for the plan 2 , you need to get a decent lens instead of the Canon kit lens (is a dog toy).

Personally,I recently bought a D40x with Sigma 10-20EX, Nikon AF-S18-70DX and 55-200VR in Bangkok and went to China last week with them, I was quite impressed , it is fast and intuitive , the LCD is excellent and the View finder is quite good (not as good as my 40D but better than my 400D).

The AF is a bit slow compared to my Canons with my EF-S17-55IS or 10-22 , I also use EF70-200F4L IS and EF70-300DO IS , I recommend all,I am not against any particular maker though I prefer Canon or Nikon to all others.

BTW, just do not buy any Pentax or Oly , they won't have any future since they do not have any marketing professional thatcan get easy and effecient distoribution sytem in Asia, as a result , we will not see their cameras in most part of Asia.

Also, Sony is rejected there , I never seen them , initially the A100 was sold here in Thailand and Sigapore , though in a month or so , it was completely disappeared from all stores ............now, I only see Canon and Nikon here , and considering of lens availability , I am forced to stick with my Canon and Nikon(I like them any way , though.)

Also , having 2 systems is not bad at all , you can use good part of those brands and make your kit simple.

I prefer to shoot wide with my nikon since Nikon crop factor is 1.5x while that of my Canon is 1.6X .

My Sigma 10-20 EX is a 15mm lens on my D40X but my Canon 10-22 is just a 16mm lens on my XTI or 40D. So I now prefer my Nikon for wide angle , but the IQ of the Canon lens is superior to the Sigma on my Nikon.

I use my Canon mainly for tele photo shootings because my lens become longer because of 1.6x crop factor of EOS 40D and 400d , for example , my Canon EF70-200F4L IS is like a 114-320 lens on my 40D.

This means , when I carry my D40X with my Sigma 10-20EX and Canon EOS40D with EF-S17-55IS and EF70-300DO IS, I can cover from 15mm to 480mm euivalent range on full frame body with least compromised quality .
