定価ベースで5000円Upということは…VR機構＝5000円？

何となく「企業努力」を感じてしまいました。
各社「Body内蔵」型な手振れ補正を搭載してきているので、対抗上安価な手振れ補正レンズを戦略的に発売しないといけないんでしょうね。

VR機構＝5000円と言うのもビックリものですが、80gしか重くなってないというのもビックリです。ようやくVRレンズを軽量安価に製造するメドが立ったということなのでしょうか。

何となくこれから色んなズームレンズがVR化して行きそうな予感も..... (^^)

70-300mmもAF-S化してEDレンズも入れてVRIIが付きましたから、Nikonはドンドン望遠ズームにはVRもしくはVRIIを搭載してリニューアルしてくるのでは？
何れにしても、こう云うレンズのリニューアルは、ユーザーとしては大歓迎です (^^)

後は〜55か〜70�_の広角〜標準低価格ＶＲレンズが欲しい、のは私だけ？。

特に17−55は最短撮影距離はそのままで、初回限定でクローズアップフィルター三枚のオマケ付き(ニコンのゴールドロゴ入)

In-camera AS does work only for short focal range as tested at dpreview and imaging-resource.com respectively.

And even if you have a camera with the in-camera AS feature, u will need an IS lens for tele end of zoom to squeeze out the full potential of your camera resolution any way.

We only need IS on tele zooms and low light zooms like EF-S17-55IS , which is a great lens, better than the bulky and very expensive Nikkor equivalent of it.


If in body AS is better than lens-based IS , why no pro buys a Pentax or a Sony ?

Because it is not as effective as lens-based IS at long end of tele zooms.
Also, this is important to note that any kind of AS is only needed or useful for certain kind of focal length or certain situation of hand held shots in low light, but in-camera-AS does not give you any choice and just simply charge extra for it.

On the other hand,the lens IS , at least , gives you a choice of IS or not for any kind of focal length; for example , I have a Tamron 17-50 as a general walk-around lens because I do not feelin need of IS in this focal range( even after having used the Canon's great EFS17-55IS for a month), I have a Canon EF70-300IS for general tele lens(in this focal range ,you need any kind of IS but not in body ones like Sony SSS or Pentax SR, which is only effective for low light photography, not for tele zooms), and all my primes(fixed focal length lenses) are non-IS.

Even when you have a camera with In-body-AS, you still better have an Lens-based IS when you shoot at 300 or 400mm focal range , so maybe the best solutions to this very crucial and complicated issue are :

1 put in-camera-AS whether it is worth or not for all entry level of D-slras.

2 Use lens-based-Is for long primes like 300mm F4L and tele zooms.

If a camera system has both in-camera-AS(pentax type) and Canon type lens IS , that is the best. For short range of zoom , you can use In-body Anti-shake , for tele end of it probably more than 100mm roughly calculating , use an IS lens or a VR lens.

In any way , lens IS or VR are much better than in-camera-AS though, it is still useful to have the Pentax type of AS when shooting in door (in a dim lit church or class room) and having this type of AS is at least better than without it.

So incorporating 2 kinds of IS is the best way to solve this serious issue.

Canon already has in-camera IS technology and Nikon, as you probably know , has a CCD shifting technology , which is used on Cool pix Point and shoots (S10,S500,etc).

In very near future , they will incorporate it into all their entry level of cameras(for pro models , only lens-based IS or VR) , and this will damage Sony and Oly alot.

I think Pentax is trying to develop some new lens-based AS or SR with Tokina , I read it in some where.

That said , they may alive, Pentax needs serious improvement in its AF ssytem , though.

I like Pentax body design and ergonomics but the AF speed sucks.
